Patton Group was involved in a number of public and commercial building projects around the Ballymena area. Braidwater Ltd had a building project with an exemption for fill materials at a site at Leighmore Avenue, Ballymena. Before construction work could begin, levels had to be raised and up to 10,000T of fill material was required. NISP introduced Patton Group to Braidwater who agreed to draw excavated material from sites around Ballymena into the Leighmore Avenue site. By February 2010 the site had reached the required levels. Approx 2560T of material that otherwise would have been landfilled was used as engineering material and represented cost savings of £7680, additional sales of £6400 and CO2 savings of 270T. Two employees were also retained as part of this synergy.
