Plasterboard disposal hits the wall

The disposal of gypsum based products such as plasterboard to landfill was banned from 1st April as landfilled waste can generate harmful emissions. However gypsum is a resource that can be recovered and used in new plasterboard, in cement manufacture, in soil remediation and as soil modifier on agricultural land. This case study illustrates how NISP helped MacNabb Brothers and Gypsum Recycling Ireland bring this solution to businesses in Northern Ireland.
