Peterborough Zero Waste Places Project

As part of the Government’s Zero Waste Places scheme Peterborough was selected as one of six areas in the UK to become a Zero Waste Place and trial innovative methods of reduce, reuse and recycle.

NISP East of England was invited by Peterborough Environment City Trust to work with Osborne Civil Engineering to redevelop the historic Peterborough City Centre. A key objective was to make the project zero waste.

The project was awarded the Gold Green Apple Award for environmental achievement and was visited by Hilary Benn MP – Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
